No Excuses: Do Yoga From Home

I used to think yoga was silly.  I was the type of girl who wanted fast results on her body and the slow flow of yoga did not seem to suffice.  It wasn’t until my senior year of college that I decided to enroll in my university’s “Rest and Relaxation” class.  It sounded like the ideal class to close off my last year (and I had waited 3 years to finally be able to enroll without the dreaded waitlist!).  What I thought would only be designated nap-time surprised me as it introduced me to the world of yoga.  I had no idea how much yoga would improve my life.  Before I knew it my body was toning up, I felt a connection to and gratitude towards my body, my mind was clear and present, I didn’t feel burdened with stress (a nice change to my computer science major), and I was SO happy and grateful!

When my class ended and I had one more semester to go, I made yoga a regular in my life.  I tried to go to yoga classes with one of my best friends (especially around spring break) but life gets busy and sometimes it is very difficult to find the time to leave home.  Also, yoga classes weren’t cheap on a college budget.  I did not let that become my excuse, and neither should you.  After all, we live in the twenty-first century!  There are so many platforms now that can bring yoga to your home where you can comfortably gain the benefits of yoga like I did.  However, every once in a while I needed an extra push to get me motivated.  Being able to get that push from an online yoga community so that I could do yoga at home was the solution.
